Anyone can be a model and have glamorous images taken. All it takes is a little creativity with hair, makeup, clothing and lights and you too can have quality glamorous photos. Theme photos are a popular way to make portraits more interesting and fun. Bring props that accessorize an outfit that fits a theme: a tennis racket or golf clubs, a musical instrument or a favorite purse. Recreate the look of a bygone era; a pin up from the 1940s or a Hollywood starlet during the golden era. You do not need to worry about where to put your hands, how to position your legs or come up with poses. You only need to look at the sample pose book and mimic what you see. If you are under 18 you will need your parents permission. They will have to sign a “minor model release” and they should accompany you to the shoot. What is a Release? If you are over 18, you can wear whatever you like. But I will require you to sign a “Model Release” before I take any pictures. The cost of doing this type of shoot varies greatly. A basic shoot will run about $100. The article does quote prices ranging from $100 to $7,000. A basic shoot will include about 3 wardrobe changes with a couple hundred photos being taken. The photos can be taken in the studio, at your home or other location of your choice. The cost increases when clothing must be purchased, a location must be rented or stylists and make up artists are needed.
